Limited Import Only Black Vinyl LP of The Who Live In Voorburg 1973!



Before heading off on the Quadrophenia tour, British mod legends The Who found time to play a live greatest hits set for broadcast on Dutch television. The band had not played live since September 1972, having spent most of their time in the studio working on their era-defining rock opera. The pent-up energy is palpable during the show, which elects to stick with older material rather than debut anything new. The result is one of the best live recordings of The Who, and the short but sweet set list features classics such as Pinball Wizard, My Generation and Won't Get Fooled Again. It's when the band are at their most punchy that they sound best, and Baba O'Riley moves with thunderous intensity. The band's closing number, Magic Bus, gets extended into a sixteen-minute jam session and captures The Who at their most instinctive, firing on all cylinders.
