A stunning new recording from The Beatles' early, rare live performance! The complete 11-track recording from the August 21st Bournemouth performance from their 1963 UK tour.
While the sound quality is somewhat distant, the instrumental balance is solid. Considering the era, this is a highly listenable recording.
As Paul greets the audience between songs, John interrupts, yelling.
The girls then cheer, but the audience is quite well-behaved, and they seem to listen carefully to the quieter songs.

Highlights included the April single "From Me to You," as well as "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Twist & Shout" from their debut album, Please Please Me, released in March. The setlist also featured Paul's early signature "A Taste of Honey," George's "Roll Over Beethoven" and "Chains," and Ringo's "Boys," showcasing the charms of all four Beatles.

John's live performance of "Baby It's You" in front of an audience was also quite rare.

The second track, "Thank You Girl," featured Paul greeting the audience during the intro. And the highlight was "She Loves You," which was released two days after the single's release.

While Paul was saying "I wrote this two weeks ago," John interrupted him with a strange yell...lol.
This is a masterpiece that's immediately apparent as soon as the performance begins - spontaneous applause breaks out, and the concert progresses in a fantastic atmosphere.

The venue, larger than the Cavern, allows for a clearer hearing and a better reception. This was surely the period when The Beatles were most excited about performing live.

Continuing along with the applause, they performed a passionate performance of "Twist and Shout," and then concluded the show with an instrumental reprise of "From Me to You."

No recordings of Beatles shows prior to October 1963 remain, making it impossible to even get a sense of the atmosphere of their live performances.

This is truly a valuable discovery. The "Stowe School 1963" live performance on April 4th, released last year, was a surprisingly long 22-song performance, a one-man show at the school's invitation, but perhaps a performance like this Bournemouth performance would have been typical of a UK tour.

An even more surprising discovery was the recording of the Walthamstow performance on May 24th from the band's spring UK tour with Roy Orbison. Two songs by Roy are available, and five Beatles tracks have been unearthed.
They even perform "Some Other Guy." You can also hear "Please Please Me."

Two performances from the 1963 UK tour, which has long been a mystery, have been recorded. Bonus audio is also planned.
