This album showcases the Rolling Stones’ spectacular concert at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, on 26 July 1972. This was the final night of the band’s legendary American Tour 1972, also known as the “Stones Touring Party”.
Featured here, are three cuts from the then-recent Exile on Main St. album, in the shape of Rip This Joint, Sweet Virginia and All Down the Line, alongside earlier fan favourites Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Midnight Rambler and You Can’t Always Get What You Want, and more.
Comprising a total of forty-eight dates across June and July 1972, the Stones Touring Party has been described as “part of rock and roll legend” and one of the “benchmarks of an era”. The tour saw the band’s first performances in the United States following the Altamont Free Concert in December 1969.
